The three cups
Cup 1: Light Trail
Light Trail, Hard: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 4 steps long on 9 panels; each panel glows for 0.36 s.
Tip: Listen as well as look. Each panel always plays the same note, so a trail is also a little tune.
Cup 2: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Hard: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours and word buttons; the first card is the word ‘orange’ in orange ink.
Tip: Let your eyes rest on the edge of the letters, where the ink is, rather than reading the middle of the word.
Cup 3: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Left or right: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.48 and 3.49 s.
Tip: Play several rounds in a row on the same device before you judge a result; single rounds vary.
