Tea Break Brain

Ink & Word

Tap the colour each word is printed in, whatever it spells.

A colour word appears on the card, written in coloured ink. Sometimes they agree, often they do not. Tap the button for the ink and let the word go by. It sounds easy until the word ‘blue’ turns up in orange.

How to play

  1. Look at the colour the word is printed in.
  2. Tap the button of that colour. What the word says does not matter.
  3. Pick the wrong colour and the game pauses for a second before showing another word.
  4. You have forty-five seconds.

Levels and modes

What your result means

The result is the number of correct taps in forty-five seconds. The card adds wrong taps, accuracy and your average response time in milliseconds for the correct ones.

Questions

Does the same ink ever come twice in a row?

No, the next ink is always a different colour, so a pressed button never repeats.

I am colour-blind. Can I play?

This game is built on telling colours apart, so some pairs may be hard. The other seven games do not depend on colour.

Which keys can I use?

Number keys 1 to 4 or 1 to 6, in the order of the buttons. The numbers are shown on the buttons when you use a mouse.

Why are the words in my language?

The colour words follow the language of the page, so the pull of the word is as strong as it should be.
