Flash Grid
A few tiles glow and fade; tap the ones you saw.
On a quiet grid a few tiles brighten, then fade away. Your job is to tap each of them again, in any order you like. Every round you get right puts one more tile into the next pattern, and as the patterns grow the grid widens with them, from three by three to seven by seven.
How to play
- Watch the grid while the tiles are lit. They stay on for roughly a second, a little longer for bigger patterns.
- When they go dark, tap every tile you saw. Order does not matter.
- A wrong tap closes the round at once: the tiles you missed are shown, one of your three lives is gone and the next pattern drops by a tile.
- The game stops after three lost lives or fourteen rounds.
Levels and modes
- EasyEasy starts with three tiles on a three by three grid and shows them a touch longer.
- MediumMedium starts with five tiles on a four by four grid.
- HardHard starts with seven tiles and gives you less time to look.
What your result means
The big number on the result card is the biggest pattern you tapped back cleanly, in tiles. Underneath are your points (every tile of every correct round), the rounds you played and the ones you missed.
Tips from the tea table
- Look at the shape, not the tiles one by one. Three tiles often make a corner, a little line or a triangle that is easier to keep than three separate spots.
- Tap the tiles you are sure of first, then the doubtful one. A wrong first tap costs the whole round.
- When the grid grows, split it in your head into halves and remember which half held more light.
- If you miss twice in a row, take a sip of tea before the next round. The game waits for the countdown, not for you to rush.
Questions
Do I have to tap the tiles in the order they lit?
No. Any order is fine; the game only looks at which tiles you picked.
Why is the grid a different size now?
The grid follows the pattern: up to four tiles fit on three by three, eight to eleven on five by five, and so on up to seven by seven.
What happens after a miss?
You lose a life, the next pattern has one tile fewer, and you never drop below one tile under the level’s starting size.
Is there a keyboard way to play?
There is: the arrow keys walk across the grid and Enter picks the tile under the focus.
