The three cups
Cup 1: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Hard: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 7 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1 s.
Tip: Tap the tiles you are sure of first, then the doubtful one. A wrong first tap costs the whole round.
Cup 2: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Hard: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours and word buttons; the first card is the word ‘green’ in green ink.
Tip: Let your eyes rest on the edge of the letters, where the ink is, rather than reading the middle of the word.
Cup 3: Number Span
Number Span, In order · Hard: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 5 digits, each shown for 0.52 s.
Tip: Type steadily; there is no clock while you answer.
