The three cups
Cup 1: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Hard: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 5 × 5 to 7 × 7; differences: a dot more or less ×5, a smaller symbol ×4, a turned symbol ×2, a ring with its gap moved ×1.
Tip: Care pays more than haste: each wrong tap adds two seconds, longer than most rounds last.
Cup 2: Light Trail
Light Trail, Hard: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 4 steps long on 9 panels; each panel glows for 0.36 s.
Tip: Group long trails into twos and threes, the way you would remember a phone number.
Cup 3: Step Back
Step Back, Position · 3 back: keeping a short list moving through your mind. 23 squares, 6 of them matches, on 7 places of the board.
Tip: In position mode, give the squares names like clock positions; names are easier to shuffle along than places.
