The three cups
Cup 1: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Hard: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 5 × 5 to 7 × 7; differences: a ring with its gap moved ×3, a smaller symbol ×3, a turned symbol ×3, a mirrored symbol ×2, a dot more or less ×1.
Tip: Resist checking symbols one at a time. Let your gaze rest loosely on the whole grid; quite often the different one steps forward on its own.
Cup 2: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Go or stop: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.46 and 3.5 s, and 3 of those eight signals say Stop.
Tip: Play several rounds in a row on the same device before you judge a result; single rounds vary.
Cup 3: Number Span
Number Span, Backwards · Hard: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 5 digits, each shown for 0.52 s; type it backwards.
Tip: The numbers never repeat a digit twice in a row and never run in steps like 4-5-6, so you do not need to guard against those.
