The three cups
Cup 1: Number Span
Number Span, Backwards · Hard: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 5 digits, each shown for 0.52 s; type it backwards.
Tip: Chunk the digits as they arrive: 4-7-2 becomes forty-seven, two. Two chunks are easier to carry than five singles.
Cup 2: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Hard: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours and word buttons; the first card is the word ‘blue’ in blue ink.
Tip: A wrong tap costs a full second, so a calm correct tap beats a quick wrong one.
Cup 3: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Go or stop: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.53 and 3.5 s, and 3 of those eight signals say Stop.
Tip: In go-or-stop, wait for the word as well as the colour. A held tap on Stop is part of the score.
