|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Flash Grid | Hard | 7 tiles on 4 × 4 | about 2 min |
| 2 | Step Back | Position · 3 back | 23 squares | about 1 min |
| 3 | Reaction Time | Go or stop | waits 1.45–3.47 s | about 1 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Hard: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 7 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1 s.
Tip: When the grid grows, split it in your head into halves and remember which half held more light.
Cup 2: Step Back
Step Back, Position · 3 back: keeping a short list moving through your mind. 23 squares, 6 of them matches, on 8 places of the board.
Tip: In position mode, give the squares names like clock positions; names are easier to shuffle along than places.
Cup 3: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Go or stop: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.45 and 3.47 s, and 3 of those eight signals say Stop.
Tip: Look at the panel, not at your finger. The change is easier to catch straight on.
Every cup in set #22 has a fixed seed, so anyone who opens this set gets the same patterns, trails, sums and waits. Your own ticks and results are kept only in this browser.
