|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Step Back | Position · 2 back | 22 squares | about 1 min |
| 2 | Flash Grid | Medium | 5 tiles on 4 × 4 | about 2 min |
| 3 | Light Trail | Medium | 3 steps, 6 panels | about 2 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Step Back
Step Back, Position · 2 back: keeping a short list moving through your mind. 22 squares, 6 of them matches, on 7 places of the board.
Tip: In position mode, give the squares names like clock positions; names are easier to shuffle along than places.
Cup 2: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Medium: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 5 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1.1 s.
Tip: Look at the shape, not the tiles one by one. Three tiles often make a corner, a little line or a triangle that is easier to keep than three separate spots.
Cup 3: Light Trail
Light Trail, Medium: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 3 steps long on 6 panels; each panel glows for 0.44 s.
Tip: On the nine-panel board, note where the trail starts and where it ends; the middle is easier to rebuild around fixed ends.
Every cup in set #165 has a fixed seed, so anyone who opens this set gets the same patterns, trails, sums and waits. Your own ticks and results are kept only in this browser.
