The three cups
Cup 1: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Medium: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 4 × 4 to 6 × 6; differences: a turned symbol ×4, a ring with its gap moved ×3, a mirrored symbol ×3, a dot more or less ×2.
Tip: Resist checking symbols one at a time. Let your gaze rest loosely on the whole grid; quite often the different one steps forward on its own.
Cup 2: Step Back
Step Back, Letter · 2 back: keeping a short list moving through your mind. 22 letters, 6 of them matches; letters used: C, F, H, K, L, N, R, T.
Tip: Start at one back until it feels dull, then move up. The jump to two back is the big one.
Cup 3: Number Span
Number Span, In order · Easy: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 3 digits, each shown for 0.8 s.
Tip: The numbers never repeat a digit twice in a row and never run in steps like 4-5-6, so you do not need to guard against those.
