|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Flash Grid | Hard | 7 tiles on 4 × 4 | about 2 min |

| 3 | Number Span | Backwards · Hard | 5 digits, backwards | about 2 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Hard: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 7 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1 s.
Tip: When the grid grows, split it in your head into halves and remember which half held more light.
Cup 2: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Hard: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 5 × 5 to 7 × 7; differences: a ring with its gap moved ×4, a smaller symbol ×3, a dot more or less ×3, a turned symbol ×2.
Tip: Sweep in rows when it does not pop out. Rows are easier to keep track of than a wandering search.
Cup 3: Number Span
Number Span, Backwards · Hard: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 5 digits, each shown for 0.52 s; type it backwards.
Tip: Chunk the digits as they arrive: 4-7-2 becomes forty-seven, two. Two chunks are easier to carry than five singles.
Every cup in set #58 has a fixed seed, so anyone who opens this set gets the same patterns, trails, sums and waits. Your own ticks and results are kept only in this browser.
