The three cups
Cup 1: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Hard: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 7 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1 s.
Tip: Tap the tiles you are sure of first, then the doubtful one. A wrong first tap costs the whole round.
Cup 2: Number Span
Number Span, Backwards · Easy: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 3 digits, each shown for 0.8 s; type it backwards.
Tip: Chunk the digits as they arrive: 4-7-2 becomes forty-seven, two. Two chunks are easier to carry than five singles.
Cup 3: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Medium: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours; the first card is the word ‘purple’ in blue ink.
Tip: A wrong tap costs a full second, so a calm correct tap beats a quick wrong one.
