What is in the pot
| Cup | Game | Level | First task | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Light Trail | Hard | 4 steps, 9 panels | about 2 min |
| 2 | Odd One Out | Hard | 5 × 5 to 7 × 7 | about 2 min |
| 3 | Reaction Time | Go or stop | waits 1.47–3.6 s | about 1 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Light Trail
Light Trail, Hard: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 4 steps long on 9 panels; each panel glows for 0.36 s.
Tip: On the nine-panel board, note where the trail starts and where it ends; the middle is easier to rebuild around fixed ends.
Cup 2: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Hard: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 5 × 5 to 7 × 7; differences: a dot more or less ×3, a turned symbol ×3, a mirrored symbol ×3, a smaller symbol ×2, a ring with its gap moved ×1.
Tip: For turns and mirrors, pick one feature of the symbol, like the foot of an L, and look only for where it points.
Cup 3: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Go or stop: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.47 and 3.6 s, and 3 of those eight signals say Stop.
Tip: Breathe out while you wait. A tense hand jumps early more often than it reacts faster.
