Strong brew · three games · about 5 minutes
Cups in this set
Each cup counts when you play it at the level shown here.
This pot has been left to steep: hard levels, quick flashes and bigger grids.
In this pot: hold it in mind, a steady eye. It opens with Odd One Out and finishes with Flash Grid.
What is in the pot
| Cup | Game | Level | First task | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Odd One Out | Hard | 5 × 5 to 7 × 7 | about 2 min |
| 2 | Ink & Word | Hard | ‘orange’ in purple | about 1 min |
| 3 | Flash Grid | Hard | 7 tiles on 4 × 4 | about 2 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Hard: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 5 × 5 to 7 × 7; differences: a smaller symbol ×4, a mirrored symbol ×3, a turned symbol ×2, a ring with its gap moved ×2, a dot more or less ×1.
Tip: Sweep in rows when it does not pop out. Rows are easier to keep track of than a wandering search.
Cup 2: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Hard: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours and word buttons; the first card is the word ‘orange’ in purple ink.
Tip: Let your eyes rest on the edge of the letters, where the ink is, rather than reading the middle of the word.
Cup 3: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Hard: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 7 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1 s.
Tip: If you miss twice in a row, take a sip of tea before the next round. The game waits for the countdown, not for you to rush.
Every cup in set #145 has a fixed seed, so anyone who opens this set gets the same patterns, trails, sums and waits. Your own ticks and results are kept only in this browser.
