Cups in this set
Each cup counts when you play it at the level shown here.
Set #150 is one of the strong ones. Play it when the tea is hot and the room is quiet.
In this pot: hold it in mind, a steady eye. It opens with Ink & Word and finishes with Light Trail.
What is in the pot
| Cup | Game | Level | First task | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ink & Word | Hard | ‘red’ in red | about 1 min |
| 2 | Odd One Out | Hard | 5 × 5 to 7 × 7 | about 2 min |
| 3 | Light Trail | Medium | 3 steps, 6 panels | about 2 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Hard: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours and word buttons; the first card is the word ‘red’ in red ink.
Tip: On the hardest level, learn the button order in the first few seconds. It stays the same for the whole game.
Cup 2: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Hard: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 5 × 5 to 7 × 7; differences: a mirrored symbol ×4, a ring with its gap moved ×3, a smaller symbol ×2, a dot more or less ×2, a turned symbol ×1.
Tip: Sweep in rows when it does not pop out. Rows are easier to keep track of than a wandering search.
Cup 3: Light Trail
Light Trail, Medium: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 3 steps long on 6 panels; each panel glows for 0.44 s.
Tip: Say the trail quietly to yourself by shape: circle, star, drop. Words travel further than pictures for many people.
