The three cups
Cup 1: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Hard: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours and word buttons; the first card is the word ‘green’ in yellow ink.
Tip: A wrong tap costs a full second, so a calm correct tap beats a quick wrong one.
Cup 2: Quick Sums
Quick Sums, Mixed: steady mental arithmetic against a gentle clock. Sixty seconds; the first problem is 4 + 6.
Tip: Percentages are friendlier as fractions: 25% is a quarter, 75% is three quarters, 20% is a fifth.
Cup 3: Light Trail
Light Trail, Medium: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 3 steps long on 6 panels; each panel glows for 0.44 s.
Tip: Listen as well as look. Each panel always plays the same note, so a trail is also a little tune.
