The three cups
Cup 1: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Simple: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.4 and 2.96 s.
Tip: In go-or-stop, wait for the word as well as the colour. A held tap on Stop is part of the score.
Cup 2: Number Span
Number Span, In order · Easy: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 3 digits, each shown for 0.8 s.
Tip: For backwards, build the number in pairs from the end while it is still appearing, rather than reversing it all at the last moment.
Cup 3: Quick Sums
Quick Sums, Addition: steady mental arithmetic against a gentle clock. Sixty seconds; the first problem is 7 + 9.
Tip: Round and adjust: 38 + 47 is 40 + 47 minus two.
