The three cups
Cup 1: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Medium: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 6 colours; the first card is the word ‘purple’ in purple ink.
Tip: Keep a finger hovering over the middle of the buttons so every colour is the same short move away.
Cup 2: Number Span
Number Span, In order · Medium: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 4 digits, each shown for 0.65 s.
Tip: Chunk the digits as they arrive: 4-7-2 becomes forty-seven, two. Two chunks are easier to carry than five singles.
Cup 3: Step Back
Step Back, Position · 2 back: keeping a short list moving through your mind. 22 squares, 6 of them matches, on 8 places of the board.
Tip: Start at one back until it feels dull, then move up. The jump to two back is the big one.
