Cups in this set
Each cup counts when you play it at the level shown here.
A light brew to start with. All three cups are poured at gentle levels, so this set is about settling in rather than stretching.
In this pot: hold it in mind, a steady eye. It opens with Odd One Out and finishes with Number Span.
What is in the pot

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Odd One Out | Easy | 3 × 3 to 5 × 5 | about 1 min |
| 2 | Ink & Word | Easy | ‘green’ in green | about 1 min |
| 3 | Number Span | In order · Easy | 3 digits | about 2 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Easy: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 3 × 3 to 5 × 5; differences: a dot more or less ×6, a turned symbol ×4, a different shape ×2.
Tip: Care pays more than haste: each wrong tap adds two seconds, longer than most rounds last.
Cup 2: Ink & Word
Ink & Word, Easy: keeping your eye on the ink while the word pulls the other way. Forty-five seconds with 4 colours; the first card is the word ‘green’ in green ink.
Tip: On the hardest level, learn the button order in the first few seconds. It stays the same for the whole game.
Cup 3: Number Span
Number Span, In order · Easy: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 3 digits, each shown for 0.8 s.
Tip: For backwards, build the number in pairs from the end while it is still appearing, rather than reversing it all at the last moment.
