Tea set #18
Medium brew · three games · about 4 minutes
Cups in this set
Each cup counts when you play it at the level shown here.
A medium brew: the levels sit in the middle, with enough in each cup to keep you honest.
In this pot: hold it in mind, a steady eye, quick hands. It opens with Flash Grid and finishes with Reaction Time.
What is in the pot
| Cup | Game | Level | First task | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Flash Grid | Hard | 7 tiles on 4 × 4 | about 2 min |
| 2 | Odd One Out | Medium | 4 × 4 to 6 × 6 | about 1 min |
| 3 | Reaction Time | Left or right | waits 1.67–3.48 s | about 1 min |
The three cups
Cup 1: Flash Grid
Flash Grid, Hard: holding a scattered pattern for a second. The first pattern has 7 tiles on a 4 × 4 grid and stays lit for 1 s.
Tip: When the grid grows, split it in your head into halves and remember which half held more light.
Cup 2: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Medium: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 4 × 4 to 6 × 6; differences: a ring with its gap moved ×5, a mirrored symbol ×3, a dot more or less ×3, a turned symbol ×1.
Tip: Sweep in rows when it does not pop out. Rows are easier to keep track of than a wandering search.
Cup 3: Reaction Time
Reaction Time, Left or right: waiting calmly and moving the instant something changes. The first eight waits fall between 1.67 and 3.48 s.
Tip: Look at the panel, not at your finger. The change is easier to catch straight on.
