The three cups
Cup 1: Number Span
Number Span, In order · Easy: carrying a number while it grows. The first number has 3 digits, each shown for 0.8 s.
Tip: Type steadily; there is no clock while you answer.
Cup 2: Light Trail
Light Trail, Medium: keeping an order of shapes and notes. The first trail is 3 steps long on 6 panels; each panel glows for 0.44 s.
Tip: Group long trails into twos and threes, the way you would remember a phone number.
Cup 3: Odd One Out
Odd One Out, Medium: searching a grid calmly for the one thing that differs. Twelve rounds on grids from 4 × 4 to 6 × 6; differences: a mirrored symbol ×5, a dot more or less ×3, a ring with its gap moved ×3, a turned symbol ×1.
Tip: Sweep in rows when it does not pop out. Rows are easier to keep track of than a wandering search.
